As
part of the Getting it Straight schools campaign, SAUK has produced a teaching
resource pack for use in secondary schools. The resource was put together with
expert help from teachers, and was written to fulfil national curriculum
requirements. The aim of the resource is to inform teachers and pupils about
scoliosis. The information is presented in an interesting and colourful booklet,
along with two posters and pupil worksheets that can be photocopied by the
teacher.
The
pack has so far been sent out to 3000 secondary schools across the UK, and a
total of 336,000 pupils have now had a lesson on scoliosis. We have had
excellent feedback from teachers,
who have found it a useful teaching aid.
