International Scoliosis Awareness Day 2015 - Saturday 27th June
ISAD 2015 is almost upon us and we need your help!
Scoliosis is not a rare condition but there is still very little knowledge or understanding about scoliosis and how it affects the lives of patients and their families, which can leave them feeling isolated and unsure where to turn.
Scoliosis Association (UK) decided it was time for this to change and in 2013 International Scoliosis Awareness Day was launched. The aim was to unite people from all over the world to create positive public awareness of scoliosis, promote education, and bring together those affected by the condition.
As a small charity we rely on our members to help us make an impact and spread the word about scoliosis. Last year we reached tens of thousands of people all over the world on social media, received press coverage in the UK and abroad and our supporters held events and activities all over the country. This year we want to do even more and are asking you to get involved whether it be by running an event or tweeting about the day.
We have put together a fundraising pack full of ideas and advice for how you can take part click here to download
We will be holding a "Pamper in the Park" event on Clapham Common in London on Saturday 27th June and all are invited. We'll be there by the bandstand from 12 noon, along with a very special group of health and beauty students who will be offering all manner of different makeovers and beauty treatments. There'll be facepainting and other bits and pieces for the kids, too. Please do come and join us we'll have a big banner and balloons so will be easy to spot.
We really need everyone to help us raise awareness of scoliosis on a global scale so what will you do for ISAD?
