500 Club

In 2000, SAUK launched its first 500 club. The 2005 500 Club is now underway. The club has 500 members and each member holds one or more shares at £12 per share. Each share is allocated a number which is entered into a draw just before Christmas. You must be a member of SAUK to take part.

1000x50 Appeal

We are currently running a campaign to ask 1000 people each to raise £50 for SAUK. The sum raised would cover our basic running costs for a year. We don't mind how you raise the money - coffee mornings, jumble sales, a sponsored slim, a sponsored silence (for children!), a garage sale, or any event that takes your fancy. All money raised should be sent to our head office, with a note to say that it is part of the 1000x50 appeal.

Gift aid

The government has changed the rules for Gift Aid, to our advantage! SAUK can claim back an extra 25% in income tax on all donations you make, but first you must sign a declaration to say that any donation you make falls within the Gift Aid scheme. The relevant form can be obtained from the office.

Covenants

Because of the changes in the rules for Gift Aid, no new covenants will be accepted. If you wish to make a regular donation, please do so under the Gift Aid scheme.

Give as you earn

This is a government scheme whereby a regular sum can be deducted from your salary as a charitable donation. You will get tax relief on these donations.

Legacies

Having made provision for family and friends, many people choose to leave a gift to charity. Charitable bequests can be tax efficient; gifts to charity are entirely free of tax. If you would like to make a bequest to SAUK, we have a leaflet explaining how you can do this.

E-mail the office, including your name and address, if you wish to request details of any of these schemes. We will then send you the relevant leaflet.
