It seeks to allay any fears that might arise through lack of knowledge. It is written in a question and answer format and there are sections on medical terms, books, useful addresses and details about SAUK.

bulletA Twist of Fate written especially for young people by John Pearce, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Nottingham University, is about how to deal with the psychological problems that scoliosis can cause. The booklet is also written for friends and relatives of people with scoliosis, who will naturally share many of the concerns and worries of the condition. Scoliosis can cause both physical and psychological problems, but many of these difficulties can be overcome. The booklet focuses on positive ways of coping so that the adverse affects can be reduced to a minimum.
