Scoliosis in Infants

Also referred to as the ‘Baby project’, SAUK ran a campaign in 2000 to draw attention to the plight of small babies who developed scoliosis and the need for urgent specialist treatment for these infants.  With the help of Miss Min Mehta, FRCS, a poster outlining the issues in scoliosis in infants was created and then sent to 522 Primary Care Groups in England, Wales and Scotland and later to over 4500 paediatricians.  The poster showed the startling benefit of early treatment with a series of plaster jackets.  Articles related to the subject were published in the British Journal of Nursing and Paediatric Nursing and Community Practitioner.  Miss Mehta also wrote a
booklet on the subject, which can be purchased from our
online shop.
