The Information Standard

In February 2011, SAUK was awarded The Information Standard accreditation. The Information Standard quality mark makes it easy to find reliable evidence-based health and social care information that you can trust, and all new and reviewed information that SAUK produces will be in line with the processes we’ve put in place to meet the scheme rules.

The Information Standard scheme was developed by the Department of Health to help the public identify trustworthy health and social care information easily. At the heart of the scheme is the set of criteria that defines good quality health or social care information and the methods needed to produce it. To achieve the standard, organisations have to show that their processes and systems produce information that is:

  • accurate
  • impartial
  • balanced
  • evidence-based
  • accessible
  • well-written

Our information resources are aimed at adults and young people living in the UK who are affected by scoliosis, and these resources cover personal experiences of the condition, treatments available, and ways in which to minimise the impact of scoliosis on your everyday life.

You can find out more about the scheme at www.theinformationstandard.org. SAUK will be updating all publications and web pages over the coming months; if you would like to know more about our processes, and how The Information Standard criteria has been adopted at SAUK, please get in touch.
